We started working with Matthew Walters & Charles Hall in 2020. After several need/find sessions and meetings, we put together a full fall safety solution that they could make their own.

Matthew Walters has been involved in the management and delivery of numerous new-build housing developments in a career that spans over 19 years primarily as a project manager, but more recently taking on the day to day running of HighDeck Ltd.

Charles Hall has spent the majority of his working life working in numerous roles in the construction industry. Friendly and hard-working, he is passionate about developing and forging new relationships both personal and business.

We provide HighDeck with Safety Decking, BrickGuards, Ladder Hatches,  Stillages & Ladder Guards.

Matt & Charles’ business has gone from strength to strength over the past six months securing big contracts with the likes of Gleeson Homes.

WHAT MAKES HIGHDECK UNIQUE?

At HighDeck we aim to offer a superior customer service with professionalism and reliability. This is what sets us apart from the rest of the companies offering fall safety solutions. This coupled with the use of the full suite of JMAC’s innovative product range is what really makes Highdeck unique. We have found that the JMAC system is a lot more versatile that the other systems on the market. The Eco legs, Corner Bracket and MacBrace free standing system are just some of the little additions that really make the system probably the most flexible system on the market.
When we looked at setting up the business, we conducted our due diligence and market research, we looked at Trad Deck, Rhino Deck, G&M Deck, and to be frank, the JMAC kit is a tiny bit more expensive, but its the Ferrari of the safety decking kit available on the market today. The difference in quality as well as the additions available far outweighed the small price difference, and this is what initially lent us towards the JMAC system.

In this industry it’s difficult to set yourself apart from the rest of the other companies offering safety decking.

They all seem to do the same thing, but let me tell you, I have been a site manager for nearly twenty years, and I am being honest, the initial idea of setting up the company came to be by accident several years ago.
We were doing some work for one of the largest house builders in the UK, Persimmon Homes. We were constantly being let down by one of the market leaders offering safety decking on hire, it got to the point to where I was losing sleep over it. It caused me nothing but grief.

I was under pressure from the management because nothing was progressing, it looked like nothing was happening on site. All down to logistics and things falling behind because of the lack of service from the safety decking company. Persimmon did not care or want any excuses, they just wanted to see results.
So, I had a think to myself late one night, and I kind of fell on the idea by accident really. The more I got p***d off, let’s say it straight! The more I was getting let down and getting angry at the pressure I was experiencing as a site manager, the more I realised that I could do this a lot better.

I thought to myself, it can’t be that hard to do it, it’s going to take some investment, but I’m going to give it a bloody good go… and that is where the idea came from.
So, what makes us unique is the fact that I have industry background from being on the other side of the fence, first-hand, understanding the frustrations I experienced as a site manager. But also using the JMAC System which I believe is the best on the market.

I do believe we are set apart because we turn up when we say we will turn up and we get the job done. It’s that simple. We have been let down so many times, so for us it’s all about delivering a quality product as well as a quality service.

WHO ARE YOUR BIGGEST CLIENTS?

Gleeson Homes, we have just signed a huge contract with them this week.

WHAT SERVICES DOES OUR COMPANY PROVIDE TO YOU?

Safety Decking, Stillages, Eco Leg System, MacHatch, we love the MacHatch, we will be taking more moving forward. We have a client in Barnsley who needed a high ceiling height, the eco leg was perfect! Excellent system & the client loves it.

WHAT PROBLEMS WERE YOU TRYING TO SOLVE BY ENGAGING WITH US?

Well to be fair we approached one of the biggest safety decking suppliers in the UK; the sales guy contacted us trying to sell us their system. Whether he wanted to help us grow or not was irrelevant to him, he just wanted a quick sale.
The feeling I got from JMAC was the people like Aaron & Paul wanted to support us. They gave us the best advice to help us succeed. Its hand in hand, the better we do the more kit we want to order, and that’s the feeling I got. It’s a win/win. The more we need the more you guys will sell.
In contrast, when we spoke to one of the bigger companies, the guy didn’t call me back, we had to chase him several times for a quote, and it just felt like the support was not there. We tried to contact him twice and we thought you won’t get a third opportunity. That kind of nailed it for me. The more we spoke with Aaron the more that relationship grew. We are in regular contact, and Aaron always keep us up to date with all the latest product innovations that JMAC is working on in the background. It’s a special kind of relationship.

WHAT OTHER OPTIONS DID YOU EXPLORE? WHO ELSE DID YOU CONSIDER?

Trad, Rhino, Qdeck, I wasn’t impressed with any of the others. We looked at the metal systems and we did not fancy it at all. We have used them in the past and its problematic and a faff on putting together, but we did look at all options because you have to when you’re doing your research.

HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE QUALITY OF SERVICE THAT IS DELIVERED BY JMAC?

Amazing. You guys have never let me down. I called Aaron Foley the other day, and I said look, I literally just got a late order, I needed 250 square meters sending to Grimsby and I need it there tomorrow in readiness for us turning up the following day.

And it was there...

No questions asked. All in stillages nice and organised, no issues, I just turned up and did the job.
