When we looked at setting up the business, we conducted our due diligence and market research, we looked at Trad Deck, Rhino Deck, G&M Deck, and to be frank, the JMAC kit is a tiny bit more expensive, but its the Ferrari of the safety decking kit available on the market today. The difference in quality as well as the additions available far outweighed the small price difference, and this is what initially lent us towards the JMAC system.
In this industry it’s difficult to set yourself apart from the rest of the other companies offering safety decking.
They all seem to do the same thing, but let me tell you, I have been a site manager for nearly twenty years, and I am being honest, the initial idea of setting up the company came to be by accident several years ago.
We were doing some work for one of the largest house builders in the UK, Persimmon Homes. We were constantly being let down by one of the market leaders offering safety decking on hire, it got to the point to where I was losing sleep over it. It caused me nothing but grief.
I was under pressure from the management because nothing was progressing, it looked like nothing was happening on site. All down to logistics and things falling behind because of the lack of service from the safety decking company. Persimmon did not care or want any excuses, they just wanted to see results.
So, I had a think to myself late one night, and I kind of fell on the idea by accident really. The more I got p***d off, let’s say it straight! The more I was getting let down and getting angry at the pressure I was experiencing as a site manager, the more I realised that I could do this a lot better.
I thought to myself, it can’t be that hard to do it, it’s going to take some investment, but I’m going to give it a bloody good go… and that is where the idea came from.
So, what makes us unique is the fact that I have industry background from being on the other side of the fence, first-hand, understanding the frustrations I experienced as a site manager. But also using the JMAC System which I believe is the best on the market.
I do believe we are set apart because we turn up when we say we will turn up and we get the job done. It’s that simple. We have been let down so many times, so for us it’s all about delivering a quality product as well as a quality service.
